“Hey!  I’ve got a web page!”
“A web page?  What for?”
“I dunno – ‘cause web pages are cool?”
“Well, what’s on it?”
Funny you should ask.  Stuff by me and about me that you might think is interesting.  Or not.  But that’s ok, because it’s probably gonna keep changing every now and then, and maybe you’ll like what’s next.
What’s on it now is:

http://randomthoughtsideasgripes.blogspot.com/

Photographs: because that’s something I like to do best.  Mostly scenic and nature shots, but also some others I thought were fun and interesting.

Words: Stories, because that’s something else I like to do best.  Some fact, some fiction, some that are some of each.

Barb: A Bio, just in case you were interested.

Pictures and Words:  Some things I’ve done and places I’ve been.

Odds and ends: Maybe pictures, maybe words, maybe some other odd, fun and interesting stuff as well.

Some of these overlap, and some things might be in more than one section-especially the photos.

Like I said, it’s probably going to keep changing, until maybe I decide what I want the page to do.  For now, it is what it is.  If you’re curious, have a look.  If you find some thing you liked, or thought was interesting, let me know.  If not, let me know that, too.  I can take it, I’m a big girl.  Guy in a place I delivered outside of Detroit said so.
“Hey, I’ve got a web page…….does that mean I’m cool?”

You know how hard it is to write a bio?  I mean, I read them in programs and things like that, but I haven’t tried to write one of my own.  Who’d want to read it, anyway?
You can’t be too lavish, or you sound like a real conceited twit.

You can’t be too self-deprecating or you sound like – well, a really conceited twit.

So, here’s some stuff about me, and if you want to know more, send an email.

Born: July 25, 1942, Chatham, NY (there used to be a Women’s and Children’s Hospital where the Eckerd Drug Store is now.)

Parents: F. Edward and Marian K. (Hough) Peduzzi

Sister: Jean Rose, 3 years older.

Grew Up: Oh, let’s change that-I’m never gonna grow up.

Lived: near Kinderhook, NY, first few years on what is now Fisher Road in what was called ‘The Bungalow’, then moved to the farm on what is now Kinney Road when I was 6.  Utica when I went to college, New York City when I worked there during college, Syracuse and Utica after graduating from college, back to Kinderhook, moved to Chatham in 1977 and been here ever since.

Schools: Martin Van Buren, then it became Ichabod Crane Central, graduated 1959; Mohawk Valley Technical Institute, graduated 1961, AAS Degree in Advertising.

Jobs I’ve had include: (besides working on the family farm while growing up) waitress, hostess, clothing and department stores-sales clerk, display, buyer and manager, traveling magazine, clothing and furniture sales, radio and department store copywriter, newspaper production and reporter, textbook publishing mail room, NYC ad agency receptionist, cross country truck driver and theatre from props mistress to assistant producer.

No wonder some days I’m tired!  Some day I’ll figure out what I want to do when I grow up.  How did I get into doing so many different things?  Mostly butt-backwards, but that’s a whole ‘nother bunch of stories.

‘Extracurricular’: Chatham Rescue Squad since 1975, currently president & chairman of Board of Directors.

Family: Married x 2, and gave up on that stuff.  Daughter Sara, step-daughter Stephanie, grandson Stephen (Sara’s), granddaughters Meagan, Amanda, Heather, Holliann, and Dani (Stephanie), and to be a great-grandmother in June (Heather).

I like: music, reading, photography, writing, walking, camping, being outdoors, the mountains, travel, sitting on the beach, waterfalls, fireworks, good wine, and animals.

I do not like: crowds, noise, people being idiots, liars, braggarts, bad drivers (especially bad drivers who think they are good drivers), and people who won’t help (especially people who say they are helping but aren’t).

Philosophies:  If I’m not having a good time, I’m not gonna do it (whatever it is).
Things happen for a reason-you may not know what that is right away, but it is there.
Fanatics are usually not right, but they get listened to because they are louder.
If we followed the Native American thought of ‘walking a mile in the other man’s moccasins the world would be a lot better off.

Compost occurs – sometimes you can shovel it to the right part of the garden, sometimes you can’t move it, and sometimes you just have to walk away and let it stew for a while longer.

Honors:  Whenever somebody says ‘good job’.
Being trusted with the ‘special projects’ trainees when I was driving-even though I griped about it.

Being told by a total stranger, a truck driver, that I looked like I had a ‘cowgirl attitude’ going on.

Being picked to be in “The Right Side of Forty”, a photo essay book about some really cool  women

So that’s about it.  Check out some of the other pages.  They’ve gotta be better than reading about me.

Oh, yeah – theatre program bio’s always thank somebody.   I’d like to thank my parents for having me - and for everything they taught me about what I could do and what I could be.  The lessons were always there, even if I didn’t know it then.  Also everyone who put(s) up with me when I was (am) being a brat.  And Sara, who is not only my daughter but my best friend.
